Two schools advance in The Acorn Signs Trophy (Yr 3/4)

On Monday the 9th of May, 8 schools competed in the first qualifying round at the RH Academy for a chance to move onto the finals in the Acorn Signs Trophy for Year 3/4. Separated into two pools of two, two schools had the opportunity to progress to the finals.

Croft Primary School
St Mary’s Edwinstowe
Holly Primary School
Heatherley Primary School
Northfield Primary School
Peafield Lane Academy
Parkgate Academy
Greenwood Primary School

In group 1, Croft, Holly, Heatherley and Northfield all competed against each other. Croft came out on top after a superb display, winning all games and only conceding 1 goal in the entire tournament. Group 2 saw St. Mary’s, Peafield Lane, Parkgate Academy and Greenwood compete in which was a tightly contested group, with St Mary’s defence coming out on top keeping a clean sheet in every game. A few draws and an important win against Greenwood in the final game saw St. Mary join Croft in the finals.

The second qualifying round will take place on the 23rd May with the finals taking place on Monday 6th June. We would like to take the opportunity to thank all schools and participants who took part on Monday’s tournament. As always the football quality did not disappoint and everyone should be proud of their efforts.
