Dementia & Mental Health Group ‘Active Minds’ to restart

Mansfield Town Football in the Community is pleased to confirm that the popular ‘Active Minds: Chat’ sessions will recommence from Friday 26th March, with a new session time of 9.30 to 11.30am.

Taking place at the Football in the Community hub at the One Call Stadium, the Mental Health and Dementia support group offers those in need of help a FREE two-hour session consisting of activities designed to help stimulate the brain and improve cognitive behaviours.

The session first began in 2018 and flourished in supporting those living with Dementia and rapidly expanded to support those battling Mental Health conditions with an extra session designed around outdoor sport added – however due to the coronavirus pandemic was forced to end in 2020.

At this moment, only the indoor ‘Chat’ session will be returning on March 26th, however there are plans for the ‘Sport’ session to restart at a later date with details to be announced in due course.

Mansfield Town Football in the Community will again put Coronavirus measures in place to help protect vulnerable participants, including having hand sanitizer stations and social distancing in place, alongside regular testing for staff prior to the sessions.

The announcement comes amid plans to restart other community activities in April as the governments road map continues to play out.
