Students from years five and six at Blidworth’s ‘Blidworth Oaks’ Primary School have got their hands on the final trophy of Football in the Community’s 2018-19 season, after being presented with the Ulyett Landscapes Cup.
The students received the Trophy during a special presentation assembly held on Friday [12th July] in front of fellow pupils, proud parents and teachers, following the tournament held in mid-June, where the Blidworth youngsters were the victors competing against five other schools in the all-girls competition.
Premier League Girls Coordinator Jordan Ferrer, who oversaw the competition held at the RH Academy, said “Blidworth Oaks really had to be on top of their game on the day in what was a really competitive tournament which really highlighted how much work competing primary schools put into girls football.
“The Women’s World Cup and England’s excellent run in the competition has certainly helped raised the profile of the game, and I’m sure as the year six pupils who’ve competed this year will see us again when they move up to secondary schools and have the opportunity to participate in our Girls Football sessions.”
Congratulations to Blidworth Oaks and all participating schools.
