Teenagers – Shape your future with Mansfield Town Football in the Community

Despite the uncertain times regarding education and how the academic year will reach its conclusion with regards to exams and results, Mansfield Town Football in the Community would like to reassure current Year 11 students that we are still FULLY OPEN FOR RECRUITMENT for September.

Football in the Community’s successful Education department will be running a new qualification, offering learners the opportunity to develop their options by studying for a BTEC Level Three in Sports Coaching and Development.

The course is a really exciting pathway for learners, who on the back of achieving the qualification, can go onto a career in Sports Coaching, Physiotherapy, Sports Science, Data Analysis, Teaching and much more including real opportunities for higher education or apprenticeships with 31% of current Football in the Community staff progressing through our Education Pathway previously.

Education Officer Elizabeth Regan said “As a year 11 student we understand that this is a very strange and uncertain time for you with the changes to GCSEs and how and when and what your results may be.

“Even though this is going to be different it makes no difference to us! We are still very much open for recruitment and encourage anyone interested to get in contact.

“Alongside the BTEC Qualification we offer an 11-a-side games program* led by an experienced coaching, along with the opportunity to gain first hand work experience within the coaching sector.

“We do not recruit based on footballing ability, we have no football trials and for entry to our course you just need four GCSE’s grade 9-4 or a BTEC Level Level 2 in Sport. We are in constant conversation with the course governing body regarding grades, and during the initial recruitment stage in the current circumstances, we will ask for your grade predictions.”
