Mansfield Town Football in the Community are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, charismatic and dedicated person to organise and deliver our education programmes.

Main Purpose of the Role is to:

Provide quality teaching and learning for BTEC Levels 1-3 sport students.

Responsible For The delivery of BTEC sport at Levels 1,2,3

2. Overall Purpose of the Job Under the reasonable direction of the Head of Community, carry out the professional duties of a teacher.

 

Provide quality teaching and learning BTEC Levels 1-3 and Football funded projects (FUTSAL), which are to be delivered to a range of age groups, including 16 -19, and to meet pre-set objectives and learning outcomes, which is stipulated in the funding requirements.

 

To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate.

 

To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher.

 

To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.

 

To contribute to raising standards of student attainment.

 

To share and support the trust’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.

 

 

3. Duties and Responsibilities The post holder will be responsible and accountable for:

 

Teaching of BTEC Level 1-3 in Sport.

 

Contributing to the excellence of teaching and learning in BTEC Sport.

 

To compile, as and when required, reports for funding providers.

 

Enabling the development of courses in the sport and education field.

 

Develop the programme through participating in scholar recruitment events.

 

Ensuring that all contact with and arrangements for students and their welfare is safeguarded and promoted.

 

Act as a personal tutor to students, supporting them to achieve their goals.

 

Contributing to the quality assurance within the curriculum area.

 

Participating in continuous professional development activities.

 

Promoting equal opportunities in service delivery and employment.

 

Acting in accordance with Trust corporate objective and policies and seeks to promote them.

 

Maintaining awareness of, and acting in accordance with, the provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act.

 

A willingness to work off-site.

 

Fulfilling other duties, as may reasonably be required from time to time, including evenings, parents’ evenings Trust events etc.

 

Such other duties as may be reasonably expected of the post holder.

 

 

 

 

 

4. General To at all times represent Mansfield Town Football Club and Mansfield Town Football in the Community in a professional manner regarding to dress, presentation, personal hygiene, attitude, conduct and professionalism.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

5. Person Specification
Essential Desirable
Demonstrable Experience Teaching experience.

 

Ability to assess and mark students’ work against set criteria.

 

Experience of being a personal/form tutor.

Experience of managing a programme of study.

 

Use of online marking and assessing platforms.

Knowledge Up to date knowledge of the BTEC Sport specifications.

 

An awareness of the assessment procedures and verification of BTEC courses.

Premier League and Football League funded educational projects.

 

Competent in IT and have good knowledge of Mansfield Town, Mansfield Town Football in the Community, football and sport in general.

Skills Innovative and flexible approach to supporting students and pupils.

 

Flexible and positive attitude towards new courses in the area.

 

Suitable to work with students and with the ability to form good relationships with 16-19 year old students.

 

The ability to work professionally as part of a team of staff.

 

Ability to respect confidentiality and professionally on particular issues.

Qualifications Suitable degree.

 

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

 

Full driving licence including mini bus licence.

 

First Aid Qualification.

 

Up to date safeguarding training.

 

Level 1 or 2 Certificate in coaching football and/or equivalent in another sport.

 

 

Please note:

The person appointed to this post will, from day to day, have contact with students, many of whom are under eighteen years of age, and some under sixteen years, a number of whom may have moderate learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Therefore, the post older will require an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check.
