Holiday Clubs to return during October Half Term

Mansfield Town Football in the Community are delighted to announce that our popular holiday clubs WILL return during the October Half-Term Holiday, subject to current covid-19 guidelines.

Having been forced to cancel the previous three school holiday clubs due to the country being in lockdown, Football in the Community coaches are working hard to design activities and games for children to enjoy throughout the October break, ensuring we come back bigger and better than ever before.

Running every day at the One Call Stadium from 8.30am to 4pm, Children aged 5 to 15 will be able to attend to enjoy a range of multi-sports activities, as well as football coaching games, tournaments and much more!

Head of CCO Mark Hemingray said “Our Holiday clubs are a massive part of what we do and over the past 30 years, we’ve seen endless children come in, have fun and develop as young people – we’re delighted to be able to bring it back.

“Naturally there will be some slight adaptions to comply with covid guidelines, but our aim is to focus on rebuilding children’s mental well-being and confidence around others through the power of sport”

Football in the Community will also continue with the long standing tradition of offering trips, giving young people the opportunity to visit local attractions and experience new things.

On Thursday 22nd October we will be heading out into the Derbyshire Countryside to go on a bike riding adventure, suitable for riders of all abilities – before a week later on Thursday 29th October we’ll be visiting a local adventure theme park, venue TBC.

Finally, Football in the Community will also be running the ‘Girls United’ girls only football sessions at the One Call Stadium on Thursday 22nd and Thursday 29th October, as we continue to develop our girls football program.

Led by Female Inclusion Officer Amy Page, the girls only sessions will run from 10am until 2pm costing £12 per participant, per session for ages 5 to 15 and will include a range of football coaching activities and matches.

Due to the regulations surrounding Coronavirus, Mansfield Town Football in the Community will be putting the following measures in place for the duration of the planned activities.

  • We are encouraging parents/ guardians to pre-book the days they require, thus allowing us to manage bubble sizes within set age ranges. We will be accepting on the day walk-ups; however, this will be on a first come first served basis. See below for the registration link.
  • When queuing, we ask that parents do so OUTSIDE of the Football in the Community building and maintain social distancing. We will be operating a one-in, one-out policy for payments
  • We will be using registration forms to comply with test & trace – if your child has attended either a Holiday Club (January/ February) or a match day club with us this year, you do not need to complete a form. If your child is new to us, a registration form must be completed. We ask you do this prior to attending.
  • Measures will be in place for participants throughout, including regular hand washing & sanitising along with staggered breaks to reduce the number of people within the indoor setting.
