Futsal Exit Profile – Matthew Neville

Matt joined us in September 2016 after completing his GCSEs at Queen Elizabeth Academy in Mansfield. Matt was really interested in the course as football had always been part of his life and the chance to play Futsal, develop his practical skills and complete his Btec Level 3 in Sport at the same time, it was a clear choice for him.

Throughout his 2 years with us Matt has demonstrated a continuous hard working attitude in the classroom. He hasn’t always found the Education side easy and he has been challenged in his thinking and work but will be leaving us with a Diploma in Sport at grade Merit Pass. Whilst with us Matt has gained qualifications in FA Level 1 Football and his Futsal Level 1and 2 Award as Matt was thinking that he may like to base his future career in coaching. Matt applied for a position with us as an Apprentice Community Coach and was offered the job. He will take up this position at the start of the new academic year 2018.

On the Futsal pitch Matt played in the National side and usually played in a defensive role in front of the goalkeeper and was a dependable player at the back. He was reliable in training and was always in training sessions working as hard as he could to help his team. He developed his skills over the 2 years he spent with us playing Futsal and this helped him improve in his other football as well. Throughout his time with the Futsal team he demonstrated great leadership skills and was chosen to be joint Captain of the squad.

We look forward to welcoming Matt back to work with us in September as an Apprentice Community Coach.
