EFL Trust Futsal Midlands League 1 – Burton Albion

Today’s game against Burton Albion started off a tight affair with neither team creating any clear goalscoring opportunities.

Mansfield adopt a counter attacking style of play and this was clear to see when Austin Tysall broke with pace and crossed the ball only to see his cross deflected in to put Mansfield 1-0 up.

Adam Holland made a forceful run down the touchline where he managed to pull the ball back for an unmarked Liam Askew to make it 2-0.

A laps of concentration from Austin allowed Burton to make it 2-1.

Burton Albion equalised soon after to make the scoreline 2-2.

With only 5 minutes left on the clock Stags coach Jordan Ferrer implemented a time out. His inspirational words during the time out was made very clear to the lads. They needed to create traffic in the middle of the court whilst recycling the ball quickly.

This resulted in a Adam Holland corner where he found Harry Kane lookalike Liam Askew to coolly slot home the winner.
