‘Active Minds’ is our project which aims to tackle the stigmas attached to Mental Health and Dementia, through the power of sport and the art of conversation. Split into two separate activities, Active Minds SPORT offers a safe and secure environment for people living with any form of mental health issue to make friends, socialize and get healthy through the power of sport – with regular sports coaching and training taking place every Friday on the 3G Pitch at the One Call Stadium.
Active Minds CHAT provides a safe and secure environment for people living with Dementia, or caring for those with Dementia. Each session includes a variety of activities, ranging from quizzes designed to stimulate memories, to indoor soft sports, designed to work on coordination and conversational skills.
Each session takes place every Friday at the One Call Stadium, 10am to 12noon and is FREE to attend – anyone wanting further information can contact Football in the Community in confidence on 01623 656 920 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
