England Call up for Dementia Group attendee

A member of Mansfield Town Football in the Community’s Dementia Group has successfully won tickets to see England take on the USA at Wembley tomorrow, thanks to the EFL Trust and Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate. The England manager kindly donated seven pairs of tickets to the EFL Trust following a recent EFL conference, with the trust offering all 72 Football League the opportunity to nominate a member of their community scheme to win a pair of tickets for tomorrow’s encounter. Mansfield Town FITC are delighted to announce that they have been successful in securing a pair of tickets for lifelong football enthusiast, 66 year old Arthur Frost. Mansfield Town football in the Community are proud to help tackle mental health issues such as loneliness, isolation and depression through various community programs. Mental Health is such a broad spectrum and can affect anyone at any age, Football in the Community therefor prides itself on being as inclusive as possible to make a difference to a person’s health and wellbeing, mentally as well as physically. The emotional wellbeing of children is just as important as their physical health, as good mental health allows children and young people to develop the resilience to cope with whatever life throws at them and grow into well-rounded, healthy adults, this can start with something as simple as making friends and feeling included in activities, irrespective of ability. WALKING FOOTBALL Yet another glorious morning at One Call Stadium as our Senior Stags report for their weekly session. Everyone had fun in the sun today with the standard of football improving every week. As of next week our new timings and price structure will be in effect. 9am till 10am NON MATCHDAYS 9am till 1030am MATCHDAYS Just £3 per session. EFL Walking Football Cup – Regional Finals

EFL Walking Football Cup Regional Finals   Mansfield Town Walking Football squad traveled to Barnsley today for the Regional Finals in the over 60s EFL Trust Walking Football Cup. Our squad today have been kindly managed by Alan Hodgkinson, a former attendee of our Walking Football sessions before injury. Another attendee showing their support is Dougie Carroll who plays for our Over 50s squad. A noticeable attendee is former Mansfield Town defender Kevin Bird. The UK Charity Cup-Walking Football Our Senior Stags was in action today against Colne WFC. The match was split over three 20 minutes games. Game 1 saw a narrow defeat 3-2 with both goals from Rich Bradley. Game 2 saw another defeat for the Stags but this time only 2-1. Paul Garrett the scorer. FA People’s Cup – Walking Football

FA People's Cup - Walking Football Our Mansfield Town FC Walking Football squad traveled to Derby to compete in this year's FA People's Cup. We had 3 fixtures throughout the afternoon starting with a 3-0 defeat against Etwall. Our next game was against Derby County and we recorded our first victory with a 3-0 win. Our final fixture was against Heanor where we finished with a 2-2 draw courtesy of a Rich Bradley brace. Our next fixture is on Sunday 4 March when we play Colne from Burnley in the UK Charity Cup at Mansfield.

Walking Football Today was our official photo shoot to launch our continued partnership with Everyone Health. They currently sponsor our Walking Football squad and we are looking to re launch our Senior Stags Get Fit programme in the New Year. Paul Mildenhall - Health Coach from Everyone Health said "Everyone Health has enjoyed working in partnership with Football in the Community on our shared objectives of improving the health and wellbeing of the local community." "Its been great to see the progress of the participants with their weight loss as well as forming a self sustaining walking football group.
