King Edward hit the hat trick of Vauxhall Pentagon Cups

THE VAUXHALL PENTAGON CUP FINAL King Edward School completed their own personal hat trick by becoming the Vauxhall Pentagon Cup champions for the 3rd time in 3 years. On yet again a scorcher of an afternoon at The One Call Stadium, great weather was matched by great football for the final of the Vauxhall Pentagon Cup. 6 teams progressed to this stage and didn’t fail to impress! Jacksdale, Holly, Croft, Mapplewells, Farmilo and King Edward was all in attendance for today's final. Congratulations to all that took part, your support through the tournament has been appreciated and we hope to see you again next year!

The Vauxhall Pentagon Cup Qualifying Group 3

Vauxhall Pentagon Cup Qualifying Group 3 7 more schools entered our final qualifier as they aimed to progress to next week finals night. The schools were Sutton Road Girls, Abbey, Jacksdale, defending champions King Edward, Greenwood, St Edmunds and Blidworth Oaks. On a hot sunny Thursday afternoon the standard of football was very good from all schools but just like previous qualifiers it was only the top 2 teams that could progress. It was a close fought encounter only to see defending champions King Edward book their selves a place in the final along with Jacksdale who beat St Edmunds to a final spot on goal difference. Greenwood needed a win in their final game to clinch 2nd place but could only manage a draw...

The Vauxhall Pentagon Cup 2018 – Qualifying Group 2

PREMIER LEAGUE PRIMARY STARS THE VAUXHALL PENTAGON CUP Q2. 8 more schools was in attendance today for the 2nd qualifying group of our mass participation tournament The Vauxhall Pentagon Cup for years 3&4. Last week saw Farmilo and Mapplewells progress to our finals night and they will be joined by Croft and Holly schools who finished 1st and 2nd respectively today. A big thanks must go to the other schools as well for their efforts. Peafield Academy, Sutton Road, Samuel Barlow, Walesby, Skegby Jr Academy and King Edwin. Qualifying Group 3 returns next week with 8 more schools.

The Vauxhall Pentagon Cup 2018 – Qualifying Group 1

The Vauxhall Pentagon Cup 2018 Qualifying Group 1 19 schools entered this years competition split over 3 qualifying nights throughout June. The finals night will be Thursday 5 July. Following 2 withdrawals from Priestsic and Forest View, that left us just 3 schools for Q Group 1. Mapplewells, Farmilo and Bleasby was in attendance with Mapplewells & Farmilo progressing to our finals night.

The Vauxhall Pentagon Cup 2017 – Presentation

The Vauxhall Pentagon Cup Presentation King Edward School became back to back champions last weekend and today was their presentation assembly. Hollie Fensome from Vauxhall Pentagon Mansfield was present to award the children their medals and trophy. A big thank you must go to the school, players, and parents for supporting this activity which is part of our Premier League Primary Stars programme.

The Vauxhall Pentagon Cup Final 2017 2 past winners of this tournament contested the 2017 final at half time of the Mansfield v Sheffield Wednesday pre season fixture. Samuel Barlow played defending champions King Edward in what proved to be an exciting final. King Edward school became the first back to back champions of this trophy with an impressive 4-1 victory. The 2018 tournament will be scheduled for June next year. We hope that all the entries of schools had an enjoyable time and we look forward to seeing them again. The Vauxhall Pentagon Cup Semi Finals Anyone who was watching today was treated to a great footballing spectacle. All 6 schools played some excellent football with flashes of indivdual brilliance thrown in the mix. Superb standard with some cracking goals throughout the afternoon. The 6 semi finalists was Forest Town, Peafield Lane, Greenwood, Orchard, Samuel Barlow and defending champs King Edward. After a close encounter it was Samuel Barlow and King Edward who will contest our grand final on Saturday at half time of the Mansfield v Shef Wed pre season fixture Action from the competition

The Vauxhall Pentagon Cup Qualifying Group 3

The Vauxhall Pentagon Cup - Qualifying Group 3 This week was our final qualifier with the four remaining schools looking for the final two slots. Walesby, Forest View, Forest Town and defending champions King Edward in attendance. After another good footballing spectacle it was Forest Town and holders King Edward who progressed to the semi finals. The semi finals will take place on Wed 12 July with Orchard, Samuel Barlow, Peafield Lane, Greenwood, Forest Town and King Edward schools battling it out for the two grand final slots. The Vauxhall Pentagon Cup final will be played on Sat 15 July at half time of the Stags v Shef Wed pre season friendly.

The Vauxhall Pentagon Cup in partnership with Vauxhall Pentagon, Mansfield Qualifying Group 2 At an extremely hot One Call Stadium six schools was in action as they aimed to progress to the semi finals where they will join Samuel Barlow and Orchard. Skegby jr Academy, Abbey, Sherwood, St Edmunds, Peafield Lane and Greenwood was in attendance and was a credit to their respective schools. But it was Peafield Lane and Greenwood who progressed to the next stage. Our remaining semi finalists will be known after our final qualifier next week. The Vauxhall Pentagon Cup Qualifying Group 1 Today was the opening stage of this years competition. 15 schools have entered this year with group 1 consisting of Samuel Barlow, Orchard and Blidworth Oaks. The top 2 teams from each qualifier will progress to the semi finals and then the top 2 from that will contest the grand final at half time of a future Mansfield Town pre season fixture.
