FUTSAL EXIT PROFILE – SAMUEL CLARKE

EFL Futsal Logo
Samuel joined us in September 2016 in Year 12 having completed his GCSEs at The Brunts Academy. As a lifelong footballer and football fan Sam decided that this course would be great for him, allowing him to continue his studies to a good level with the Btec Level 3 in Sport and play Futsal with us and still allow him time to play for his 11 a side team and have time to keep his part time job. Throughout the 2 years that he has been with us Sam has been a hardworking student in the classroom and on the pitch. He will be leaving us with a Diploma in Sport at grade Merit Merit and has accepted place at Vision West Notts University Centre...

Screen Shot 2018-09-01 at 13.56.03
We have a couple of new things to fill you in on that have been happening today: 1. Today has been the first day back for the new year 12 FUTSAL students and for our retuning year 13s. They spent the day together in a joint lesson today ran by Liz and Lynky. 2. We have been having some work done on one of our rooms over the past few weeks and the two new rooms are finally finished! We'd like to thank everyone who helped to make this possible and we're very grateful for the help we received on the rooms and also to our staff who put in a lot of effort to get them finished on time. We look forward to seeing...

Futsal Exit Profile – Alex Cartwright

EFL Futsal Logo
Alex joined us in September 2016 after completing his GCSEs at The Dukeries Academy in Ollerton. Alex has always loved football and having the opportunity to study full time for Btec Extended Diploma in Sport and be able to train every day and play in a Futsal league really interested him. So he applied and was accepted on the course. Throughout his 2 years with us Alex has demonstrated a really hard working and organised attitude in the classroom. This was particularly important for him studying the Extended Diploma as it meant he had to put aside more of his own time outside the classroom to meet his deadlines.  He is leaving us with an Extended Diploma in Sport at grade Distinction Distinction Distinction (DDD)....

Screen Shot 2018-09-02 at 16.10.27
This game was set to be an exciting one with Carlisle United being 4th and unbeaten in the league so far this season. So what a game it was to be a mascot! We had 4 mascots with us today for this crucial match. We started by spending some time playing football with our Saturday Club and then we took the mascots to the MTFC changing rooms to meet the players and get their football signed. After a bit more football and a lunch break, the mascots made their way onto the pitch alongside the Stags whilst they were warming up. And then for the big moment, walking out of the tunnel with their player of choice! We hope our 4 mascots enjoyed their special day...

FitC on Tour – The Home of English Football

HOLIDAY COURSES
The last trip day of the 2018 Summer Holiday Club had to be the best one, right? Well it certainly was exactly that! Today, we took our kids to The Home of English Football - St George's Park. To start our day, we played a few games of football on one of their training pitches before having a brilliant tour around the whole training complex. We saw all of the famous pitches, statues and plaques of some of the most famous football players ever. One of our favourite parts of the day was being able to to see the autograph wall holding signatures from almost all of the England Teams, past and present. Thank you to all the children who came on this trip with us, to...

Trip to Wheelgate

HOLIDAY COURSES
This week's trip day involved a drive down the road to Robin Hood's Wheelgate Theme Park. And what a day it's been! We just wish we had more time in a day to visit every one of the attractions. We skipped from zone to zone making use of all of the activities in each from the play parks, the ball pits, the vertical slides, the rides, the water park and we even had time to pet a few goats! Without a doubt one of the highlights of the day was watching Team Extreme perform their BMX, Scooter, Skateboard and Rollerblade show. It had out hearts racing as they performed their tricks and it the first time a lot of the children (and even some of the staff)...

Matt was really interested in the course as football had always been part of his life and the chance to play Futsal, develop his practical skills and complete his Btec Level 3 in Sport at the same time, it was a clear choice for him. Throughout his 2 years with us Matt has demonstrated a continuous hard working attitude in the classroom. He hasn’t always found the Education side easy and he has been challenged in his thinking and work but will be leaving us with a Diploma in Sport at grade Merit Pass. Whilst with us Matt has gained qualifications in FA Level 1 Football and his Futsal...

Football in the Community Event at Mansfield Library

Stags
After a morning of video games and football, this afternoon we went on a walk to the Mansfield Library where we were holding an event for not only the children from our holiday club, but also anyone who wanted to join us. The afternoon consisted of small games of football in our blow up football pitch, a go on our penalty shoot out simulator that told you the power of your kick plus lots of creative activities like "design a football kit" and football word games. We also had lots of information leaflets about our events and opportunities to give out to all of those who may not know about all the great opportunities we offer! Jordan Ferrer was happy to give any information needed...

Today, we took the kids on the trail in 2 different groups to see which group could find the most robins. They 2 groups set off in different directions as the trail can be done starting from any of the 33 robins. They both took their maps and set off for 2 hours before meeting again in the Old Market Square for lunch and then continued...
