SSA Easter Party goes with a real bounce!

The first ever Easter Party, held for Junior SSA Members at iJump Trampoline Park, was a real success as youngsters enjoyed two hours of bouncing fun and Easter Challenges. Mansfield’s premier trampoline park were the hosts as over fifty youngsters worked up a real appetite as they took on an Easter Egg hunt around the popular park, faced challenges on the trampolines and much more. Youngsters were also treated to an Easter Feast and met Stags’ youngsters Jason Law and Teddy Bloor who came along to join the fun, before taking home an Easter Egg each, to devour over the Easter weekend. Walking Footballers pay the Penalty in Millers Tournament

Our Walking Footballers enjoyed a mini-tournament held by Rotherham United yesterday, finishing as runners up to rivals Notts County who triumphed via a dramatic penalty shootout. The Stags were one of four teams to participate in the friendly tournament, with hosts Rotherham entering two sides and Notts County making up the other. Each side played each other once in a league format, with first playing fourth and second playing third in a semi-final, with the winners then locking horns for the final crown. Mansfield beat both Rotherham sides but came unstuck against Notts County in the league to finish in second place, meaning they faced Rotherham United (White) in the semi-final, a 2-1 win enough to see them progress to the final, where they faced…

Samuel Barlow retain John Radford Trophy

Samuel Barlow School have successfully defended their title of the John Radford Trophy, topping the final league table by four clear points, following last Thursday’s (4th April) final at the RH Academy. The Clipstone based Primary School’s success means they’ve now won the competition three times, having first won it in 2015 and again in 2018. Success was far from easy as Samuel Barlow’s year four & five pupils faced stern opposition from Holly Primary, Mapplewells and Greenwood Primary who all secured their places in the final via the qualifying groups. Quartet ready to compete for John Radford Trophy title

Four of the areas schools are ready to compete for the John Radford Trophy title, when they face off in this seasons grand final at the RH Academy tomorrow night. Over the past two weeks, fourteen of the regions schools have battled it out across three qualifying groups for a place in the final, with two teams progressing from Group A (Thursday 21st March) and one from Groups B and C (Thursday 28th March) Mapplewells, Greenwood and Holly have all progressed but they’ll face tough competition from current holders Samuel Barlow, who also romped through to this season’s final, determined to retain the trophy for a third time. John Radford Trophy Line Up Complete following final two Qualifying Groups

The line-up for this seasons John Radford Trophy final has been completed, with reigning champions Samuel Barlow school progressing alongside Greenwood Primary in last night’s [Thursday 28th March] final two qualifying groups. Holly Primary and Mapplewells Primary had already made it through qualifying Group A and will now compete with Group B winners Greenwood and Group C winners Samuel Barlow to see who takes this seasons Trophy. Played in the new format at the RH Academy, five teams competed in Group B and five in Group C – playing everybody once with the team in top spot in each group making it through to the next stage of the competition. Young Stags Duo head back to School

Mansfield Town academy graduates Lewis Gibbens and Alistar Smith went back to school yesterday, taking part in a question and answer session and shooting session at Football in the Community’s afterschool club at King Edwards Primary School. Pupils also got the chance to ask the duo for advice on technique during the sessions before receiving a signed program for the teenage Stags stars. Students from years four, five and six have been attending the after school club over the last eleven weeks, developing their footballing skills, techniques, and confidence as part of Premier League Primary Stars. Two schools progress to John Radford Trophy Final

Holly Primary School and Mapplewells Primary School have booked their place in this seasons John Radford Trophy final, after progressing through qualifying Group A at the RH Academy last night. The long running trophy has taken on a new format this season to accommodate more game time for Primary School Children, with schools having to battle it out in three qualifying groups spread across two dates at the RH Academy – the first time the complex has hosted the competition. Entering schools have been split into the three qualifying groups playing for the four spaces in the grand finale, with the number of progressing teams from each group arranged by school availability – with two teams progressing from Group A (played last night) and one...

Heartbreak for Stags in EFL Under 11s Kids Cup Regional Final

Youngsters from Bleasby Primary School suffered heartbreak yesterday as their dreams of playing at Wembley fell at the final hurdle, as they represented Mansfield Town FC and Football in the Community at the EFL Under 11s Kids Cup Regional Final, held at Bolton’s Eddie Davies Academy. Bleasby won the opportunity to represent the Stags in December after progressing through our area qualifiers and area final, and made it all the way to through the Regional Finals to the tournaments concluding match – the winner of which progressed to Wembley Stadium to play on the hallowed turf prior to the Sky Bet League Two play-off final. Sammy the Stag set to be a TV Super Mover!

Mansfield Town’s fury Mascot Sammy the Stag will become a TV star tomorrow night (Wednesday 20th March) as he joins mascots from 39 other clubs in appearing on BBC One’s ‘The One Show’ in ‘The Super Movers Mascot Mashup’. The ‘Super Movers Masot Mashup’ is a goal celebration dance like no other – as it’s been choreographed into a one minute dance, from thousands of ideas from Primary School Pupils across the country. Pop-Up Book Shop to open on Saturday

Youngsters from across the region will be able to attend a pop-up book shop at Mansfield Town’s One Call Stadium on Saturday, in the build up to World Book Day. Held at Mansfield Town Football in the Community’s pupils will be able to exchange vouchers handed out in schools for books, or pick up a copy of their favourite reads for as little as £1 as Football in the Community celebrate World Book Day. Mansfield Town Football in the Community are proud to be one of 45 professional football clubs, participating in the Premier League Primary Stars education program, and will be running a Pop-Up Book shop, to celebrate World Book Day.
