The EFL and Utilita have today announced a new four-year deal that will see the energy supplier become the Official Title Sponsor of the Kids and Girls Cup competitions. The new partnership, which will be in place until at least the conclusion of the 2022/23 season, will see the community competitions renamed as the ‘Utilita Kids Cup’ and ‘Utilita Girls Cup’ respectively. Over 22,000 schoolchildren take part in the competitions each year, with the aim of representing their local EFL Club, as they battle for the opportunity to play at Wembley Stadium. Farmilo Pupils Kick-Off New School Year with Stags Visit


Pupils from Farmilo Primary School kicked off the brand new school year with a visit to Mansfield Town Football in the Community last week, enjoying a tour around the One Call Stadium – which included meeting Stags star Willem Tomlinson. The Year Six pupils made the visit last Thursday (September 5th) as part of their ‘Writing for Pleasure’ project, which will also see a member of the Football in the Community team visit the pupils later this week to answer questions about the clubs’ history. Lead Coach ‘Delighted’ with youngster’s development as Stags’ Little Kickers Concludes


Premier League Primary Stars Lead Coach Mark Lynk says he’s ‘Delighted’ at the progression of youngsters who’ve been attending Football in the Community’s Stags’ Little Kickers sessions, following the conclusion of the summer program yesterday. Running throughout the Summer Holiday’s every Wednesday, the project has been an introduction into Football for youngsters ages three and four, with each session designed to develop youngsters’ skills, abilities and confidence, through fun and engaging games. Months of studying came to a head this morning as youngsters across the country collected their GCSE results, and whilst many will know what their future holds when September comes, a large percentage still have tough decisions to make. Mansfield Town Football in the Community are encouraging students stuck in limbo over what do in the new academic year with an interest in sport, to come and speak about their options and consider enrolling on our BTEC program. The BTEC Level Three Diploma/ Extended Diploma in Sport is the equivalent of three A-levels and has proven pathways into higher education, with students gaining the skills and experiences to progress into careers in coaching, physiotherapy, personal training, teaching and much more. Executive Mayor Visits Football in the Community


Mansfield’s new Executive Mayor Andy Abrahams today [20th August] paid a visit to Mansfield Town Football in the Community, as part of his plans to become more acquainted with community sporting activities across the district. Mr Abrahams met with Head of Community Mark Hemingray, Community Manager Gary Shaw, and Premier League Primary Stars Coordinator Jordan Ferrer, discovering more about the range of work Football in the Community does across the area, throughout the calendar year. Seniors Grace One Call Stadium Turf during Cup Encounter


Mansfield Town Football in the Community’s Walking Footballers provided the entertainment during the half-time interval last night [13th August] as Mansfield Town took on Morecambe in the Carabao Cup first round. The seniors showcased their skills in front of 1,884 supporters, playing an inter-squad friendly match to promote Football in the Community’s Walking Football sessions for over 45s, even catching the attention of Morecambe star Kevin Ellison who turned 40 in February, and joked about joining FITC’s Walking Football squad for the match. Played in good spirits the match saw a total of six goals and a missed penalty, as the seniors lived out their dreams of playing on the Stags pitch, proving age is nothing but a number. Youngsters enjoyed Sports Day as ‘Soccer Summer’ gets competitive


The summer holidays are in full swing and youngsters attending Football in the Community’s ‘Soccer Summer’ activity have ramped up their competitive side, by participating in a Sports Day event. The youngsters were split into three separate teams, competing throughout the day in different challenges such as relay races, football rounder’s and a range of football games. Schools out for summer and Mansfield Town Football in the Community would like to say thank-you and well done to all schools and participating pupils, as the full time whistle blows on Premier League Primary Stars interventions within schools, for the 2018-19 academic year. Since September, Football in the Community have visited a large number of the districts Primary Schools, working within curriculum time on PE, English and Mathematics interventions, as well as running a range of lunch-time and after school clubs. Mansfield Town’s official supporters association the SSA (Stags Supporters Association) have generously donated a brand new Walking Football Table to Mansfield Town Football in the Community, we are pleased to announce. The high-spec table arrives just in time for Football in the Community’s Soccer Summer activity, where youngsters will get the opportunity to play on the free-to-play table throughout the holidays. The generous donation comes as part of a long standing partnership between Football in the Community and the SSA, with all participants being signed up to Junior SSA Memberships throughout the season – receiving discounted FITC Activity’s and invites to three free-of-charge parties throughout the season, amongst other benefits.
