Stags Bow out of the EFL U13 Girls Cup despite valiant effort

Mansfield Town’s journey in this seasons EFL Under 13s Girls Cup is over, however it’s a journey which year seven and eight students from Joseph Whitaker School can be proud of, finishing as Area Final runners up. The Rainworth based school won the opportunity to represent the Stags when they won our local competition back in October and on Friday, made the journey to Nottingham Forest’s Community Trust complex – to face the winners from nine other Community Trusts’ competitions. Split into two groups, the Stags were drawn against representatives from Rotherham United, Lincoln City, Sheffield Wednesday and hosts Nottingham Forest – playing each side once with the top two teams progressing to the semi-final stages. Give your feedback RE February Half-Term Activities


Ahead of February Half-Term we are asking parents to share their views and opinions on what activities they would like to see us put on during this forthcoming holiday. Parents can fill out a simple form which we will use to best plan and tailor our activities, by simply downloading the Expression of Interest Form Once completed, it can be dropped in at our office or emailed to Media & Communications Officer Craig Priest – craig.priest@mansfieldtown.net by Thursday 17th January, 5pm. We are particularly interested in what parents/ guardians think about the time slots we provide, and if they would be interested in ages specific coaching. Additionally, we are also considering bringing back our ‘Mini-Kickers’ program – aimed at those aged 3-5.

Teachers praise impact of Premier League Primary Stars program


Teachers from Intake Farm Primary school in Mansfield have praised the impact of the Premier League Primary Stars program, saying they now feel more confident in their ability to deliver PE lessons. Football in the Community coaches have been delivering PE lessons at the Mansfield based school over the last eight weeks and as part of the program, have worked with teachers to enable them to improve their delivery of PE lessons now that the scheme has concluded. Football Dun Day a Roaring Success

Mansfield Town Football in the Community kicked off the New Year with a successful Football Fun day yesterday (3rd January) with over forty youngsters taking part in three hours of pure football fun. FITC Coaches put on a variety of coaching games across the day, aimed to improve the skills and ability of the participating boys and girls, who concluded the popular day with a tournament – with teams separated by age. Bleasby seal EFL Under 11s Kids Cup Local Crown


Students from Bleasby Primary School have sealed their place in the EFL Under 11s Kids Cup Regional finals and are now just one tournament away from reaching Wembley, after winning Mansfield Town Football in the Community’s EFL Under 11s Kids Cup Local Final last night. Bleasby were one of four teams competing for the crown after winning the qualifying tournaments and topped the league with six straight victories against fellow finalists Sutton Road Primary, King Edwards and Peafield Lane. Played at the new RH Academy facility, all four teams competed in a league format playing each other twice in games of ten minutes, with Bleasby gaining maximum points, scoring sixteen goals and conceeding just once. Teams Ready for EFL Under 11s Kids Cup Final


Thirty-Three schools have been whittled down to just four, and tomorrow night Mansfield Town Football in the Community will know who will progress to the Regional Finals of this seasons EFL Under 11s Kids Cup. Over the last three weeks we have held four qualifying events at the RH Academy and Joseph Whitaker School respectively and tomorrow all four winning teams from each qualifier will compete in a bid to represent Mansfield Town at the Regional Finals in early 2018, which is just one tournament away from a place at Wembley! Mansfield Town Football in the Community are pleased to announce the launch of a BRAND NEW Soccer Course to kick off 2019 – at the Brand New RH Academy in Pleasley. Led by Football in the Community Coaches, the sessions will run on Wednesday 2nd, Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th January, 10am to 1pm, and will be packed full of PURE FOOTBALL, with fun and competitive games designed to improve skills such as control, dribbling, passing and shooting. Head of Community receives Special Recognition Award for 26 Years Service

Mansfield Town Football in the Community’s Head of Community Mark Hemingray has been recognised for 26 years’ service to the scheme, awarded with the Armchair Clubs Special Recognition Award at the Mansfield Sports Recognition Awards. Mark, who will celebrate his 26th year with us this week, first joined in December 1992 as a coach and has since coached at every level from ages eight to eighteen. Now working as Head of the Community since 2001, the 56 year old has had long standing influence of the clubs history in developing young players as assistant of the clubs’ centre of excellent during the 1990s, bringing through players such as Nathan Arnold, Alex John-Baptise and Jake Buxton to name just a few, whilst more recently Mark spent…
