Mansfield Town Football in the Community are seeking to continue their excellent record with Post 16 Education, and are now recruiting for students for the 2020/21 Academic Year. The ‘Footsteps Education Program’ helps to put students on the right track to a career, offering a BTEC Level Three Diploma/ Extended diploma in Sport (Sports Coaching and Development) which over the past three academic years, has helped all students on the program, get into full time or part time work, higher education or apprenticeships. Across the two-year program, students will study a maximum of 19 units (extended diploma, 13 diploma) to get them equipped for career pathways into coaching, teaching, physiotherapy, sports science and much more. Months of studying came to a head this morning as youngsters across the country collected their GCSE results, and whilst many will know what their future holds when September comes, a large percentage still have tough decisions to make. Mansfield Town Football in the Community are encouraging students stuck in limbo over what do in the new academic year with an interest in sport, to come and speak about their options and consider enrolling on our BTEC program. The BTEC Level Three Diploma/ Extended Diploma in Sport is the equivalent of three A-levels and has proven pathways into higher education, with students gaining the skills and experiences to progress into careers in coaching, physiotherapy, personal training, teaching and much more. Year 13 Students Depart as Academic Year comes to a close

Mansfield Town Football in the Community has today bid a fond farewell to year 13 students, following the completion of their BTEC Level Three in Sport qualification on the ‘Footsteps Education’ program. Twelve students depart Football in the Community’s base at the One Call Stadium, having completed two years of academic study, whilst simultaneously representing FITC in the National Futsal League. One Hundred Per-Cent Success Rate for Year 13 Students

Mansfield Town Football in the Community are delighted to announce that one hundred per-cent of year 13 students who applied for a place at university or higher education have been accepted onto their first choice. The news comes as our ‘Footsteps Education’ program nears its competition of the 2018/19 academic year, and we continue to seek students for September. Usher nets Top Goal Scorer Award

The season may be over for Mansfield Town Football in the Community’s Futsal side, following a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Scunthorpe in the Futsal National Quarter Final, however the Stags can claim a successful season, as 19 Year Old Thomas Usher finished the campaign as leading goal scorer in the Midlands Futsal League. Usher scoops the award after netting 24 goals over the course of the season, finishing some distance ahead of his competitors and coming within just five goals of taking Mansfield Town Football in the Community’s all time goal scoring record since joining the Futsal program. 12 Days Of Stagmas [Day 1] Futsal side prepare for St George’s Trip

Over the next twelve days we’re going to be going behind the scenes of some of the work we’re currently doing within Football in the Community, showcasing what we’re all about in the build up to Christmas. Kicking off our series, we’re focussing on our Futsal team who on Wednesday will be playing two league fixtures at St George’s Park against Scunthorpe United and Grimsby A. NCS Students enjoy team building day at the RH Academy

Students from Mansfield Town Football in the Community’s NCS program, ran in association with the EFL trust, have recently enjoyed a day of team building exercises at the new RH Academy. The team building day kick started phase two of the program, following the students recent residential trip, with team building sessions led by Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Jenny Wallwork. NCS Students go rock climbing at Windgather Rocks

This week our Futsal Students are taking part in the EFL Trusts’ NCS Scheme for Autumn 2018, with a residential stay at Crowden Outdoor Education Centre. Our students have been enrolled onto the program, which offers 15-17 year olds a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to not only better themselves, but to make a real difference in their local community. This week has seen our students start the first part of the program, where participants stay away from home and enjoy instructor-led activities such as rock climbing and archery. Split into teams, they will then learn life skills including budgeting, first aid and cooking. Samuel joined us in September 2016 in Year 12 having completed his GCSEs at The Brunts Academy. As a lifelong footballer and football fan Sam decided that this course would be great for him, allowing him to continue his studies to a good level with the Btec Level 3 in Sport and play Futsal with us and still allow him time to play for his 11 a side team and have time to keep his part time job. Throughout the 2 years that he has been with us Sam has been a hardworking student in the classroom and on the pitch. He will be leaving us with a Diploma in Sport at grade Merit Merit and has accepted place at Vision West Notts University Centre...
